Antônio Carlos Jobim

Born: January 25, 1927. Died: December 8, 1994

One of the most famous and respected of all Brazilian musicians, Antônico Carlos (or just "Tom") Jobim was an important composer within the early bossa nova movement, during the late 1950’s. He remained one of the central and most sophisticated figures of Brazilian music throughout the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s.
